ChangFu® BEX12T: A weather-resistant and toughening polysiloxane suitable for cationic UV curing

ChangFu Chemical has launched a new high-purity bifunctional reactive polysiloxane with excellent flexibility, weather resistance and low surface tension-ChangFu^® BEX12T{1,5-Bis[2-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl) ethyl]-1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethyltrisiloxane; CAS: 150856-78-3}. Its unique alicyclic epoxy group, compared with the ordinary glycidyl ether type, shows higher photopolymerization reaction activity and faster curing speed under the action of cationic photo initiator, and its performance is excellent in cationic UV curing applications.

l     Excellent weather resistance:

The synergistic effect of silicone and alicyclic epoxy resin makes the cured coating have excellent anti-ultraviolet aging and anti-yellowing ability.

l    Optimized rheological and surface properties:

It can be used as an efficient leveling agent to improve the appearance and smoothness of the coating; its silicone properties also bring hydrophobic and anti-fouling effects.

l     High reactivity and curing speed:

Alicyclic epoxy groups have high reactivity and curing speed due to ring tension, structural characteristics and cationic polymerization.

Application:

u    Special coating field:

1. Fast curing coating: suitable for high production efficiency field, its low viscosity helps to achieve good leveling and high gloss surface.

2. High-performance protective coating: with excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation after curing, it can be used for solder resist ink of printed circuit board (PCB) and temporary protective coating of electronic components.

u     3D printing light curing resin:

As a key component of cationic light curing 3D printing resin, it can significantly reduce curing shrinkage, greatly improve printing size accuracy, reduce internal stress, and effectively prevent model warping and deformation.

u     Toughening agent and stress reliever:

When added to epoxy-based cationic UV system, its flexible silicone chain segment can effectively disperse stress during the light curing process, enhance the flexibility and impact resistance of the coating, and avoid cracking or peeling problems caused by brittleness on hard substrates such as metal and glass.

ChangFu^® BEX12T is a reactive silicone additive designed for high-performance cationic UV curing systems.
