Vinyltriisopropenoxysilane-High-performance crosslinker for deacetone-type RTV silicone rubber ChangFu® VIPS
ChangFu® VIPS {Vinyltriisopropenoxysilane; CAS: 15332-99-7} is a highly compatible difunctional vinyl silane monomer. Featuring a unique molecular structure, it contains both reactive vinyl groups and hydrolyzable isopropenoxy groups. The vinyl groups enable copolymerization and graft modification with various unsaturated polymers; the hydrolyzable silyl groups rapidly form a dense and stable crosslinking network, significantly enhancing interfacial adhesion to substrates and improving mechanical properties as well as humidity resistance of finished products.
This product hydrolyzes under mild conditions, releasing only acetone as a single by-product during moisture curing. It can be formulated with ChangFu® GN32{1,1,3,3-Tetramethyl-2-(3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl) guanidine, CAS: 69709-01-9}, serving as a core high-performance crosslinking raw material for manufacturing industrial deacetone-type room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber.
Key Features & Advantages
- Neutral, eco-friendly and substrate-friendly:
The hydrolysis by-product is low-odor, low-irritant acetone with no corrosivity. Applicable for sensitive substrates including metals and precision electronic components, effectively avoiding corrosion and discoloration risks.
- High-efficiency crosslinking, cost & productivity optimization:
It exhibits remarkably higher crosslinking reactivity than conventional oxime crosslinkers with faster curing speed and lower required dosage. While boosting product performance, it reduces formulation costs and suits large-scale continuous production perfectly.
- Excellent compatibility for flexible formulation design:
It features good miscibility with polyolefins, rubbers and multiple specialty polymers, opening broader space for formulation development.
- Enhanced comprehensive performance:
It effectively increases crosslink density and substantially improves mechanical properties, long-term durability and weather resistance of vulcanized silicone rubber.
Typical Application Fields
- Deacetone-type RTV silicone rubber:
Combined with dedicated catalytic systems to produce high-end neutral electronic sealants and structural adhesives, widely used for insulation sealing, moisture-proof protection and fixation of precision components in electrical & electronic equipment.
- Special water scavenger for silicone formulations:
Efficiently removes trace moisture in raw material systems to prevent premature gelation of adhesives, stabilize formulation processes and noticeably extend the shelf life of finished goods.
- Moisture-curable silicone coatings & potting compounds:
Imparts outstanding weather resistance, moisture resistance, insulation and anti-aging properties to coatings and potting layers, improving long-term operational reliability of outdoor equipment and electronic assemblies.
- Graft modification of organosilicon polymers:
Highly reactive vinyl sites facilitate polymer grafting to optimize mechanical performance and bonding strength of composite systems.
With stable reactivity and diversified functionality, ChangFu® VIPS delivers reliable raw material solutions for high-end neutral-cure organosilicon systems.
